Masters of Science Fiction è stata concepita come serie antologica di fantascienza sulla falsariga di Masters of Horror (2005-2007), di cui condivideva lo stesso format generale: adattamenti di storie tratte da autori di genere (tra cui Robert A. Heinlein e Walter Mosley), in episodi autoconclusivi di circa un'ora (compresi gli spazi pubblicitari), diretti da registi affermati (tra i quali Mark Rydell, candidato all'Oscar nel 1982 per Sul lago dorato e Harold Becker). Gli episodi hanno un'introduzione (solo audio) del fisico Stephen Hawking[1], in linea con la tradizione delle serie antologiche classiche della tv americana.

Conta-me como foi (transl. Tell me how it was) is a Portuguese television drama series which has been broadcast on RTP1 of Rádio e Televisão de Portugal from 2007 to 2011 and since 2019. It recounts the experiences of a middle-class family, the Lopes (Portuguese: Os Lopes), during the last years of the Estado Novo. In February 2019, RTP announced that the series, after eight years shelved, would be renewed, with the storyline moving firmly into the 1980s. The first episode of the sixth season was broadcast on 7 December 2019 with the Lopes entering 1984.

El Pecado de Oyuki is a Mexican telenovela produced by Televisa in 1988. It was based on an original story by Yolanda Vargas Dulché, who also adapted the screenplay for television. The original comic book series was in the style of the foto-novela. For the role of Oyuki, the photographer selected the Mexican Japanese Sachiko Tsuchiya. Born in Tepic, Nayarit, she became the most recognizable Asian Mexican of her time. The telenovela was shown in the United States in 1988 through Univision. Dulché's story was also adapted for Brazilian television in 1967 and as a comic published starting April 11, 1975 by Grupo Editorial Vid. The Brazilian version was called "Yoshiko, um poema de amor" and starred actors Luis Gustavo and Rosa Miake.
